We lost our Tyrion this morning
He(?) was our smallest gosling, never seemed to grow at the rate of my others but seemed healthy otherwise. He got the same swelling in his ankle joint that Andre had a few weeks ago but his wouldn't go down. He became feverish last night and stopped drinking or eating so I tried to get ahold of the local avian vet (she's extremely hard to catch, especially on Thursdays) but he passed before I heard anything back.
I was soaking his little foot in Epsom salt dissolved in water just like Andre, twice a day for 2 days but never saw a change. Also could not find anything wrong in general, no bumblefoot, punctures wounds of any kind, his foot looked perfectly fine aside from the swelling.
I stayed up all night with him last night to keep an eye on him and encouraging him to drink very often. I feel just terrible about it. He passed when I finally fell asleep this morning.
Hubby and mother in law think he may have had something wrong with him from birth. When I bought them, we were told they were 1-2 days old but Tyrion always seemed behind the development of the others. He was much smaller, got his first feathers much later. Has anyone ever heard of that before?
