I'm sorry for the loss of your bird. I had to help along one of my daughters favorite young ones last year when one of our dogs also got into the coop. It is a VERY difficult thing to do....
We lost one to a neighbor's dog in our yard a couple of weeks back. He was our favorite. He died within minutes with no apparent outward injuries as well. It still breaks my heart to think of him and my 10-yr old in tears (who saw it happen).
Trust me, I do it alllll of the time. Printed words sometimes just seem like a shout or harsh. But - if we all had cameras and voices online instead, everyone would be looking at me right now with ratty hair and still messy from the barnyard. EEK! So hurray to the printed word!
Besides, you were upset. I hope you're feeling better today.
My chicken adventure started off rough, lost several babies, then a 11 week old cross-beaked chick that we'd nursed along since birth had to be helped out of life. My sympathies to you!
