The PVC feeder was an idea I pulled off from what others at BYC have done. The taller chicks seemed to figure it out rather quickly. I swear the turkey was going to explode with how much he gobbled down in just the first five minutes!
The problem we are already noticing is that the feed gets through the angle and then just stops. Seriously, I think we may just revert back to the tried and true tube feeder. I think we are wanting something more portable.
I ordered some of the push-in nipples for a bucket style waterer and I'm reconsidering that too.
Maybe I'm just too plain Jane!
On another note- I was thoroughly surprised with how warm and humid the coop was this morning when I went out there!
I had left the heat lamp on because I was worried about the temp (down to 32F last night), and when I got in there, the windows had moisture on them and it felt tropical. I left the door open for about a half hour and opened one of the bigger windows to get more circulation going on in there. The chicks seemed alright though, thank goodness.
Do you think I should pick up some vitamins today to help them out? Just in case?
I'm worried that the stress of the move plus all the moisture last night might=illness. I haven't lost any of my 26 chicks+1 turkey and I don't want to start!!!
