It is now pouring in Mt Airy...0.75 inch since 8 AM. Looking at the radar, the heaviest rain in the state appears to be moving along the NC/VA border...those of you North of Raleigh should get a good soaking.
Guess what?? ITS RAINING!!! I am so thankful. It woke me up this morning. They say 1 to 2 inches. WONDERFUL!! I hear the state is bringing hay in from other parts of the country for the dairy farmers and beef farmers, but I don't think they would help with my 2 little steers. I've been cutting grass (what little I can find) with my lawnmower and bagger. They're doing ok for now, but I sure hope I can find hay for the winter. The bad news is, I turned off my incubator this morning. I candled and floated all 6 eggs, no sign of life. I have no idea what went wrong, but can't bring myself to open one up to see. Next year....
Hey, MayberryChick, my sisters and I are coming up to Mt Airy tomorrow for our monthly sister-bonding weekend. We try to go somewhere new once a month. But mostly it just to get together and act like kids again...

OK, I'm a little Jealous.........we only got 1/10 of an inch and it stopped. Wow 1.5 inches, our pond would be filling up if we had that much run off.
