We now have a flock

What started as a novelty idea has blossomed into something strangely addictive.
We started with two unknown breed/gender chicks & now we have a flock
I can't wait to see what my girls name the chicks.

I purchased all as pullets but we will see.
one oddball question mark is the bantam Polish.
Just thought I'd show off our girls this is just arriving home, their digs only for a short time before going to the farm.
These chicks are supposed to be about a week or so old.

These were oddball chicks in the golden comet box so we took both

Wyandotte

and a Barred Rock


Seems a colorful flock with gonzo the lighter colored prize from school


Butterscotch has moved out to a coop for now, I plan on introducing them with the help of another open sided coop
before I put them together in the long term coop.



Can't wait to share the chicken adventure.
the girls are going to be so surprised when they open the box this afternoon.

We're getting ready to move into the Big Coop.

The big girls have moved to the Large Prema-Coop so we can ready the brooder coop for the new Bantam babies
hatching soon.

At first the girls freaked a little in their new digs, but once everyone was inside things calmed down a little.

It was such fun watching them in the cool corner scratching up some dust under their feathers.
I put an extra bit of security on the end of the coop before I left just in case anything got bold tonight.
I put a large piece of railing in front of the double wired open end... I plan to get some builders fabric tomorrow to ad an extra layer of security on that end
Me an my stapler gonna be beezy.

The girls went to roost this afternoon while we were visiting....

I am guessing that means they are comfortable with the new housing arrangements
