We were almost killed last night

Good Lord, Paula! I'm glad you're alright!

Poor moose, poor car, poor you.

And isn't auto glass supposed to be tempered, so when it breaks, it cubes and not shatters?

The deal is, it is very rare for the person that hit the moose to be in good shape. The moose must be removed and butchered asap. The roadkill list is meant to assist those that are low income, as a courtesy from the state.

Oh, it cubes. But when a 1,000 pound moose is slamming into it, the peices are very very little.

No actual front end impact, so not deployment.
The airbags would have made things much worse in this case...

Back glass and side windows cube. Windshields are made out of laminated glass with a layer of plastic sandwiched between them. They are much stronger that way. However when they actually shatter the glass fragments are very small just like regular glass.

They were real lucky on this one. It could have peppered their eyeballs. It's a good thing you guys hit it square on instead of swerving for it and ending up rolling.

We are doing quite well. I slept very little the first night, 2-3 hours I think. Sunday night about 6 hours.
Last night, I fell asleep on the couch around 8pm. Hubby woke me up a little past midnight, so I could crawl into bed.
I slept hard until 6:30 when the School bus came for the neighbor kids.
In Alaska, they have flashing strobe lights on top, so they are super visible in our darker winters.
So just a wee bit BRIGHT!

My eye looks so funny. It is super itchy, and even though all the bruising has been on the bottom, the top lid etched enoug that I rubbed it yesterday.
Well, turns out I should not have done that. I woke up with the redness having spread to the top lid as well.
But all in all, its getting much better.

DH stopped at a local florists where a friend of ours works, and asked her to make me a up a $20 bouquet.
She is super sweet, and as it typical of her, she added in an extra $20 in flowers and greens.
The bouquet is so big (and absolutly gorgeous) that I had to use my 3 gallon glass jar for a case, cause even the gallon jars are too small.
Never mind my vases being small!

DH is doing super. He was not quite as traumatized as me. This I am thankful for more then I can ever express!
God has been good to us.
