Help! I have a weak chick and was hoping to give her the baby vitamins but forgot to tell hubby "no iron". What's wrong with the iron? It's a pain for me to get to the store to return it and he said they didn't have it without iron. I'm not going to give it to her but was hoping someone could explain what it'll do. These are my first chicks, ever and she is my favorite, the one I was sooo excited to find, BLRW.

Thanks for your help!

I have no idea why it would hurt a chick. In moderation it's good for any living thing with pumping blood. Too much iron can cause heart conditions. In the wild, the mama hen wouldn't stop to think "hey, this plant is greener and thus has more iron, so I shouldn't feed it to my babies." I don't think it would hurt... but I could be totally wrong! I feed meat to my day old babies, never hurt them. That's gotta be high in iron.
