the chick is 2 days old, i know they usually don't start to eat or drink for awhile after they hatch but he was fine yesterday and now he cant open his eyes, walk and he cant chirp, His poop is clear, sticky, with green bits looking like mashed grass.. he definitely hasn't eaten grass, he has only had chick crumble and water, which im afraid to my carfelessness he hasnt been eating or drinking any thing :( .I started to mix a little bit of molasses into his water but i have to just dip the tip of his beak into the water as he cannot drink on his own and he still looks like having trouble swallowing, should i add some water to his chick crumble and making a mash? but i'm afraid he is going to choke on it, he really needs to start eating and drinking soon or i'm afraid he isn't going to make it, I cannot get hold of any Quik Chick or anything like that as we live in a very rural area and supplies are limited and the nearest shops are miles away, :[ Please post below if you could help, anything would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Chicks pass that green plug. Normal.

Chicks don't need to eat or drink for two or three days following hatch. This too is normal and why it is that freshly hatched chicks from the hatcheries can be shipped in the mail for a couple of days delivery.

Give the chick some time. It is still adjusting to life outside the shell. It is still living off the egg yolk it absorbed just before hatching. Another day will likely show some improvement. Not all chicks survive and not all chicks thrive. Often we don't know why, but it is nature's way of weeding out the weak and those with problems. It's sad, but it is a reality of hatching chicks.
