Yes, it doesDoes your brooder have enough ventilation?
Her crop feels like a grape right now. About the same size of a grape tooIt's hard to tell by this picture. It may just be fluff in the front but she does look to have a very large chest for a chick. What does her crop feel like now?
That is good, I would check the size again at night. Im not sure what time it is for you. It 2:30 pm for me. I would not feed her anymore let her eat if she wants too. With a crop that size she is stuffed. By morning it should be empty. That will be good sign her digestion is working. Her crop feels like a grape right now. About the same size of a grape too
She also falls over really easily. I gave her a bit of water just now, and I set her down gently. Still, she fell over forwards, and I had to nudge her up. It doesn't look like she has splayed leg, but what's going on?
I can not answer wether or not she is in pain.I just want to know if she's in pain, and if I can do anything for her
Yep, her crop is empty. The bedding is paper towels on hemp. She drank water on her own last night (from the spoon of electrolyte water I gave her). There are four other chicks with her. I actually don't think we have a thermometer. We've been adjusting the radiator (there's a heat plate as well) using the chicks' actions (panting in the corners, too hot, all under the heat plate, too cold)I can not answer wether or not she is in pain.
I also can't not come up with any other suggestions because I don't have answers to some questions I asked.
Temperature of the brooder? If you have a thermometer that would be helpful.
What is the bedding in the brooder?
Again picture of the brooder would be very beneficial.
Did she drink water on her own or did you give it to her. As I say above with a crop that size she's stuff and I would not give her anything else until it is empty. But still leave the food and water in her brooder for her to decide.
Was her crop empty this morning?
Is there any other chicks with her.
