My sister picked up this little nugget for me. Guy said it was a salmon favorelles...definitely is not. I’ve had him/her for 6 days and he’s chirped non-stopped. Looks to eat and drink ok, moves around some but mostly stays in one spot chirping.. eyes usually closed but he will open them. I get home this afternoon and he’s a little unsteady on his feet...kinda walking backwards. The poor thing has huge wings (which have grown) relative to a very tiny body which does not seem to be growing. Or not nearly as fast as the Orpingtons, wyandottes, and isa browns that are also in the brooder with him. When I hold him and he tries to jump back in the brooder or follow the other chicks he just flops to the ground...like his wings are too heavy for him.
I have no idea what it is...maybe it’s not even a chicken 😑. At this point I don’t even care...I just want him/her to be healthy.
Look at this face...he doesn’t look healthy 🥺

:O

That does look odd.

But others probably should speak up. I don't have enough experience with chicks. (If it was ducklings I could help more).

After some googling I’m leaning towards failure to thrive. I put a little honey in their water and am leaving right now to go grab TSC’s last bottle of Nutri-Drench before they close 🤞

I had a chick that lived for 5 or 6 days. It had to be isolated in the incubator and I eventually had to put it down (Bicarb soda vinegar method). Was weak, eyes closed, chirping all the time and was so skinny. I had to feed it food and water with a formula syringe from the pharmacy. Luckily yours eats and drinks!

The internet has some great resources. But if it's constantly upset and you've tried everything, sometimes the kindest thing you can do is put it to sleep. The bicarb soda vinegar method was easy for me and it peacefully drifted off. No more pain. Good luck!

🐥 I think he/she is going to be ok!! I got the Nutri-drench, came home and got a few drops into him. Then I wrapped him in a warm towel from the dryer while I cleaned out the brooder and filled the water bottles with the vitamin water. While I’m doing this I notice...he was quiet. I thought he’d died on me 🥺. I ran over to him...and he was just asleep. So I take him out to hold him while I finish up with the brooder and he starts the incessant chirping again! I wrap him back up...and he’s quiet. Hmmm. Made a warm porridge out of vitamin water and feed, moved the heat lamp closer, laid a heating pad under the clean towel and put him back in...little guy plops himself down right under the heat lamp, fluffs up his feathers, raises his face towards the light....and is completely content. His roommates are sleeping down at the other end out of the light, but he’s enjoying the tropical paradise. Look at this face...is this the face of a happy chick or what?? 💛🤎
