I have been breeding New Hampshires for a while and have some new hens that I now use for hatching eggs. The last 3 batches of New Hampshires are not growing good and covered in pasty butt. I can't even keep it cleaned off. They just look very puny. I have had a lot die. I also hatch Silkies with them and no problems at all with them. I have 2 more hatched due in the incubator and wonder if i should just cull the eggs. I hate bringing up more of these chicks. What Would You All do?

I saw a comment recently that pasty butt CAN be caused from brooder temps being too high...could that be possible in this case?

I will say that I've had more cases of pasty butt this year than in the last 5 combined. I am not sure why. But, nothing "over the top" as far as managing it. Hopefully, someone else will pop in with more thoughts.
