Weak, Wobbly, Chick.

Clean her eyes with normal saline. Apply some Vetericyn eye gel, Terramycin eye ointment, or plain Neosporin ointment to her eyes twice daily. Watery eyes can be an early sign of a respiratory infection, and that can also affect her vision. Watch for any runny nose, sneezing, or noisy breathing. Pecking by other chicks may have caused her eye drainage, but respiratory problems can be serious.

She rubs her eyes on her fluff, and shakes her head sometimes, but I haven't noticed sneezing, or anything wrong with her breathing. I'll post a picture of the poor girl.

I'm sorry, what's normal saline? Like "people" saline? She diffidently doesn't like having water going over her eyes, I tried to rinse them with a couple drops of water, and she shook her head. And where would I put the Neosporin? Around the eyelid?

Saline is normal saline, It is found in the first aid section of WalMart and most drug stores for wound care or nasal sprays. The ointment or drop go into the eye by holding the eyelids open--just 1 drop or 1/8 inch of ointment.

Where do I put the Neosporin? I don't put in directly in her eye, do I???

I'm going to try and clean her eyes today, just with warm water and see how that goes.

Ethel's doing alright, I'm thinking she's partially blind, probably in her right eye. She didn't exactly like me cleaning her eye, and I got clear, sticky stuff off her eyelid. I've also noticed that she doesn't shut here eyes completely, only the inner eye lid moves. ??? We're working on getting her an ointment, and I'm thinking about getting the Ciloxan drops. Is it alright to give her people eye drops? Or "human" eye ointment?

By the way, thank you so much, Eggcessive! I'm really not sure what to do for her, and so I'm really hesitant. (I'm probably being really frustrating!
