I would think how it looked wouldn't matter, just get something up, it might help the chickens escape the weasel.

Can you put some "rafters" near the top? Mine go as high as they can get including rafters and a 10' wall.​

Roosts can be anything. Your run looks lovely, maybe you could build something that would blend in using tree branches and/or logs? Elevated, horizontal 2x2's make good roosts, and the lumber is inexpensive.
