Well that was a terrible idea. I’m pretty sure the whole idea of a coop is to give them a safe place to roost at night. You’ll need to block the door every single night then or sooner or later you’ll lose them all. You have absolutely no hope of stopping anything with that set up unless someone is willing to change a few things.

We did mention making a door, but he wanted to be simple. If we make a door, it'll have to be a sliding pull door. The only way into the chicken yard is through the hole the chickens use, cuz my dad didn't build a gate either.

Ah, must have missed that. What was the size of the mesh in the previous thread? Just curious since that size mesh seems capable of excluding weasels...

We found them dead in the chicken run of the coop. Two in the corner, one on the far side near the other corner of the chicken run half eaten, & heads chewed off. Raccoons are known for pulling the heads off of chickens through fencing. Maybe put up some game cameras?

My splash copper Maran roo has part of his face chewed off. That happened early in the morning during the killings.

So your chickens are not where you live, they have no door to keep them protected at night, the entire pen is surrounded with chicken wire, there’s a hole in the fence where the chickens can get through and so can a human, theres a creek nearby and you’ve narrowed it down to a weasel again why?

Are they digging under coop to get to them? Then buy metal panels like they use on buildings and bury at least two feet underground. In all reality though, you need hardware cloth to save them.

This is why game cameras are good to have, there's not much guessing about what it was.
