I thought I'd post this to see if anyone has ever had this experience with a weasel.
When I heard my chickens squacking I ran up to my barn. I went around back to see the weasel running back and forth under my barn trying to get into the coop. I opened the coop door and there was my Thelma dead and my other Princess laying there barely moving. I squished through the little door and grabbed my remaining chicken, Red. While grabbing Red the weasel was still trying to get in the fencing. I kicked at it several times and it kept coming back right at me. I took my 2 chickens and ran them down into my house.
I called my neighbor to come and shoot the weasel. He showed up with a pellet gun. The weasel was feasting on my chicken and he was able to get a clear shot and hit it. It made a sound and took off.
My boyfriend got home from work and we went up to the barn through out the night. Finally, he saw it and shot it point blank in the face, right under its nose. It fell and he shot it again 4x and still managed to take off.
We figured it just died sometime in the night and we looked all day for its body.
My boyfriend lives in a cabin up the street from me. He took Princess home with him to care and doctor her up.
He went to go check on her and as he was pulling into his driveway he saw the weasel. When he got out of his truck it came running up to him so he stepped on it to stop it. As soon as he lifted his foot off of it, it tried to attack him. He kicked it and sent it flying, it again came back, he kicked it again. Finally, after the 3rd attempt of attacking him he grabbed a shovel and had to kill it.
He said it was definately the same weasel because it was walking all crippled.
I really believe that if my BF hadnt gone home that darn weasel would of made its way into the cabin and finished off Princess.
Sorry this is so long..Now I'll be having nighmares over a crazy weasel. If I hadnt seen it myself, I wouldn't ever believe it.
