What would cause my easter-egger to lay the wee egg on the right after laying normally for the last 4 months? She will be a year old in March.

But, I’m not sure the reason for the small egg. My neighbor has been seeing this in his 2yo hens, after they went through a molt, but your EE is young. Is this the first small egg? And did you crack it open yet?

I just got a wee egg from one of my hens also! I am pretty sure there isn't a yolk in it.
I also have a hen that lays tall eggs - they are narrow and tall so when I put them in an egg carton the top won't close, but they are not snug in the cups so the egg will rock back and forth.

First small egg yes, and very dark, like an olive. I told my daughter she could have it for breakfast, so I will keep you posted on its contents!
