Weeder Geese not weeding!

They are beautiful! They are smart! I put up a fence because mine were eating my garden in my raised beds. They got into the fence on the edge. I'm just going to put up a fence out of lattice so it will look pretty and keep them out. I have lots of fruit trees. They love my pomegranite tree leaves and have almost killed one, it can't grow a leaf that they don't eat off. They are very good at keeping my peach tree groomed. I don't mind that because it is growing like crazy. They don't mess with my citrus or apple trees. I have never seen them mess with the tree trunks, just the leaves.

. Depends. If not much tender grass, they will eat other things, sometimes they "taste test'. I bought a roll or so of 2 ft. garden fence and fenced around my small fruit trees, they will strip apple leaves down low. They got a small apple one day, brats. My Shetlands got in the garden which is fenced off and did eat the crap grass and ignored the tomatoes, lettuce (it has gone bitter anyway), and strawberry plants. However I didn't let them stay too long. They LOVE crab grass which is fine by me..... There are some weeds I tried to gt them to eat as babies , but they won't eat "plaintain" or 'knotweed' or anything with stickers.....
They do mow our yard, so that I only have to cut it a few times in summer, NICE. Sometimes I let the horses out and between the two they get most. The nasty weeds they don't eat are then obvious to pull out or kill
