Week old chick picking at her upper leg. Scab, scaly leg mites, or something else?

Greetings all,

I'm a first time owner of 5 bright little chicks (from MPC) and noticed this morning that my speckled sussex chick has been picking at the base of her leg. For reference, I use pine shavings as bedding and keep them in a 55 gal trough that I deeply disinfected. She's eating and drinking and doesn't seem walking too funny. Although she's a little more withdrawn, staying under her ecoglow, but it is kind of a chilly morning.

I would apply a little Neosporin or vaseline to the wound, which may prevent her from pecking it. Heat plates like Ecoglow, are good, but the air temperature needs to be warm enough to keep them warm enough. If it is very cold outside, those may not give enough heat. I have used them inside my house with 70 degree temps, but they would not be enough in temps under 50 degrees, in my opinion.
