Week old chicks outside?

My chicks turned a week old yesterday and I was wondering if I could let them explore outside supervised for about half an hour. They are already trying to escape the brooder and I use a heat pad so I could always hook it up to an extension cord so they can get warm if they need to. Should I let them out yet? It’s supposed to be in the seventies this afternoon and they are used to the sixties in my house.

A field trip in the yard would be fun for your chicks! I usually put my chicks in a dog play pen are so that they are more contained and easier to catch!

Thanks! I’m also going to try and use this experience to make my dog less terrified of the chicks. He won’t go into the room that they are in nor the room with their supplies. A
