Hi,

I am hoping someone might have expierenced this before and can provide some insight.
I purchased some black copper marans chicks whom are about a week old maybe a week and a half.
A couple of thems wing feathers seem to curl outward at the tips. I am new to this breed and don't have a clue.
I haven't read about this being normal anywhere. I paid alot for these chicks and was supposedly shown the adult birds, but I am really kinda freaking out over this.
Any ideas??

Thanks In Advance

This happened to some supposedly purebred Light Brahmas I recently bought, but now I realize they must be Frizzle Cochins.

Here's a pic of mine at 1.5-2 weeks:

Weird, huh? They are really pretty, though!

Send some pics.

There is another condition called helicoptering which can be a result of stress and a condition called "runt-stunt syndrome", but it looks different. The feathers grow out at odd angles to each other and are very brittle. The curling is frizzling and not detrimental, just a genetic characteristic. I'm not sure if it's dominant or recessive, anyone know more about the frizzling gene?
