My family and I just returned from our week long beach vacation, and upon looking in the nests, I find 7 eggs laid by one of my two hens. The second hen is currently "Broody" and will sit on the other hens eggs. Under normal circumstances I know that a week in the coop is no big deal for the eggs, but since some of them have been under the Broody hen, are they still good. I do not know which ones she may or may not have been sitting on all week. Since the eggs would have been kept at a much warmer temp, it makes me wander about the eggs. Anyone have any idea? To be safe I will probably toss them, but I thought that I would ask.

Thanks,
Jeff

! Pleased you joined our flock! After seven days there are things happening inside a fertile egg that is being incubated. They are probably "safe" to eat but not sure if I'd want to. A cat or dog might enjoy them. Good luck to you!

Thanks for everyone's help. I did not mention that the eggs are not fertile. I do not have a rooster.

Thanks, Jeff
