Well its finally done...ok..er...95% done. A few little things but overall I'm so happy with it. Despite the fact that we "chicken newbees" figured it should only take a weekend, all in all, it was worth the wait. The girls seem to really enjoy it....hope you do too!

It always take much longer than you think, especially if you've never done it before!
Very cute, looks well built. Nice sized run.
Do you have a roost higher than the nest boxes?
Ventilation along that roof eave?

I'm finding that out, too. My girls are 7 weeks old...should have been in the coop last week. I should get them in today with the coop about 85% done. I still have to shingle the roof, build the nesting box and put vents in at the top of each gable wall.. Did I mention I still have to build the run. I probably could have been finished on time if I took my age into account. The last time I built something this ambitious I was 18 years younger. Now I'm 57. 8-10 hour work days have become 5-6 hour work days, and then I have to be pried out of bed the next morning. But, I'll get there...eventually.

Very nice coop!! Are you ever really finished building a chicken coop? Our chickens are over a year old and we are expanding their coop. We recently put in a bigger window and a few months ago expanded their run because of predators they can no longer free range. We're always updating or improving something on our coop.
