I was wondering if I were to take part of mine and my boyfriend's flock home with me (we ended up with too many roosters) and they traveled with me back and forth (no one to care for them at my place but me) would everyone remember each other? Remember their pecking order?
Side note,
Our silver laced wyandotte went all the way to the bedroom making noise (other 6 stayed put in their bed by the door) was she actually looking for me (I've been gone 48hrs) ?
Do they actually miss me when I leave? They all run From me.
Thanks for reading my early morning thoughts.

They might remember each other, but they would still need to restore their pecking order every time they get put together. Doing that would most likely cause them stress. Chickens like to find their flock and stick with them. Chickens do not like changes.

It is possible she was looking for you. She might have also just gotten lost or wandered up to the window out of curiosity.

I know this is WAY OLD but I wanted to let everyone know that the flock flourished and adapted to spending time between his land (free range) and suburbia (my place) (confined to a 30x30 area)(at the end we had 30+- chickens).
I had to leave him (and wasn't allowed to take them) for my own safety.
They learned quickly my place even though we weren't here for more than a week at a time with IDK a month or more at his place. I never did separate them into his and mine, I just became top rooster to keep the fights down.
I've broken down and called him a couple times over the years and thanks to him everyone is gone but monarch, who hears my voice and does that tiddlywinks thing.
Chickens are smart and can adapt.
I miss my freedom and my flock😔.
I was so glad I had taken their feathers from growing up and stuck them to my wall, I cried and started at it for months trying to heal, emotionally and physically. All because he wouldn't control his drinking and had a female friend who wanted to be more than a friend...
