In the Brooder
I think I know the answer, but don’t like it. Have some buff eggs due to hatch in 8 days, and noticed one of them had some dark green oozing on top of the egg. Picked out with gloves hand the ooze was soft, smelled awful, but wiped off with gloved hand. Candled, and clearly a chick is present but smaller than another egg I candled for comparison (not odd, since the eggs were collected over 7 days).
I think it’s rotten, but with a clear chick present, hate to toss it out. Chick didn’t move during candling btw. Top left egg in the picture.
Thinking to leave it a few hours more, and if oozing continues, it’s bad and to toss it. Thoughts? Thanks!
