weigh in

Today I weighted out my 40 birds and banded them according to Male female bigger smaller they are 5 weeks today and any that weighted 6oz or less got the band for culling and any over 7 got banded for breeding males I just going to keep 5 of the biggest anyone else weight their birds and what weights have you gotten.

I need to weigh all of mine but so far these are the results I do have from the ones I did weigh a few weeks ago and just reweighed now


They were a little over 10 weeks old when i weighed them first time

Ike (roo): 4 3/8
Henny Penny: 6 7/8
Big Bertha: 12 5/8 <---If i remember i'll reweigh her and others tomorrow

And heres weights I just got

Ike(roo): 5 1/8
Henny Penny: 7 5/8
Rosie: 6 1/2

Ike is a tuxedo, so for right now I dont care how little he weighs, tho im working on 12+ weights in ALL my colors over time

I just put my first third in the garage tonight to get them used to the cooler temps I hooked up a brooder lamp just incase its to cold. They fought me weighting and banding them I got plenty of puke on my shirt but got them sorted out. I needed to make room in the basement I got chicks due to hatch in the morning just a few from my backyard flock .
