This might seem like a silly question. But can you tell the sex of your ducklings by weight? I weighed my 3 mallard ducklings and one weighs more than the other two. Pink- 2.8 oz purple - 3.0 oz and the unmarked (rascal) weighed 3.5 oz. seems like a high jump from the other two. Thank you

Not for sure. When they are older and weigh more, maybe. Some just grow a little slower/faster than others. It could be correct but not 100%

okay, they are only 6 days old so I figured it'd be too early.

Holy crap they grow fast! In just 3 days they have doubled their weight. Rascal weighs 6.4 Oz pink weighs 5 Oz and purple weighs 5.7! Still don't have names for pink and purple

They do grow fast, you might be able to try that with the 'scovie breed as drakes outsize the ducks fairly quickly but mallard derived seem to have better telltale signs. (voice, feathers etc)

oh yes I know nothing is certain but I do think I have one drake and two hens, maybe two drakes, in which case I will have top get more hens. So I am hoping one drake and two hens..I do think that rascal is a drake, he weighs so much more than the other two and always has.
