How does it work? DOES it work? Do you lose like the OLD WW plan?? Something like 2lbs a week?
hmm.png

I need to go on some kind of diet and motivated.., i'm like a fat slug right now..

Usually i prefer Atkins, as i can lose weight much quicker on that...and that keeps me motivated..
But i'll be doing this diet with my mother and she has bad cholesterol and PAD.. etc... sooo i'm thinking Atkins wont be the safest diet for her..
We chose WW... but i'm just not sure... I just dont want to lose weight too slowly and give up..... I know myself..
How well does this new WW program work? Anyone know?
Thanks!

Hello, The WW Point system DOES work. I had to lose 10 pounds last May for my brothers wedding in June and did it on that plan. There is a chart I have that can tell you how many points are in most foods. You can eat anything but have to keep within the amount of points given. I found it easy.
Good Luck

DH and I just joined online last week. I lost 1.2 lbs the first week (looking to lose 15) and the hubs dropped 2.5. I love the iphone app. It makes counting points feel like a game! Fruits and veg are all "free" with other foods being of higher point values than with with the previous WW points system. I get 29 points p/day- the lowest allowed. I'm a short thing though. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about it!

Thanks! We'll be going to a meeting in the next week or so to get started....
So i'm sure they can answer any questions i may have,....
The only thing that i'm not liking so far is the slow (to me) weight loss..
If you have 10-20lbs to lose, its not so bad...
But if your a fatty, like me, 1 pound a week will take FOREVER! I'll never make it...

I reeeeeaaally want to do Atkins, for quicker weight loss,... but i think that WW is safer for my mother.... so, to be safe i told her we'd do WW...

The weight loss was gradual.. maybe 2 pounds a week for me. But I've kept "most" of it off even through the holidays. You learn a whole new way of eating. Portion size is a big factor.

I'm a former fattie

I did Atkins in high school with my parents- and got down to my lowest weight ever- 115. Then met my now husband, and got REALLY fat and happy. Up to 185 on a 5'1" frame. So...I can say that slow and steady is best. You'll lose quicker if you have more to lose though! Good luck to you and your mom!

Thats what i've heard.. the weight stays off better with WW....
with something like Atkins it can come back with a vengence and bring along 20 more lbs just to be a B*tch...

I've done Atkins before, and the weight came back fast. The carb cravings were unbearable, and you can't eat like that forever. I did lose more weight faster, but gained it back. I lost a total of 19 pounds from May to October.
