Only my 3rd batch of incubation and this egg has such a strange air sac. These were fresh eggs not shipped. Since lockdown is tomorrow I’m keeping it in there but just wondering if anyone else has had this happen. I think it’s still a good egg but we will see once it hatches.

I’m curious, how did the hatch go on these eggs? I have some that I ordered that was shipped to me that are doing the exact same thing. I’ve never had this happen before on any that I hatched from my own hens.

Saddled air cells usually mean shipping trauma, expect significant decrease in hatch rates, especially late embryonic death. Eggs will still hatch but more than usual often die in shell.

Great news! Out of 12 eggs, 11 little babies hatched! Just goes to show that the weird air sack does not necessarily mean that they will not hatch.
