my chick is 9 or 10 weeks old shes eating and drinking fine and shes pooping but she keeps doing a position like as if she was trying to poop but nothing comes out and every once in a while she a really loud strange chirp does anyone know what this could be and what i can do?

Try mashing up calcium pills and put them in her food. Also, lift her up and hold her upside-down gently and check if there is any poop blocking her hole. If there is, take a cloth and drench t in warm water and try to pick the poop out of the chick. The chick can get dried poop from stress, that will intoxicate the chick and cause death.

Hi @oreopiggy :frow Welcome To BYC

Please do not give your chick that is 9-10 weeks old Calcium Pills. At this age chicks do not need excessive amounts of Calcium, this can be damaging to the kidneys. What is provided in the Chick Starter should be sufficient.

If you have photos of your chick and her vent or a video of her actions that would be good.

It sounds like she may be constipated. Check her vent to make sure it is clear of any poop. Provide her with plenty of fresh water or you can add some poultry vitamins to her water. If she is constipated, you can give her a very small amount of molasses water - 1 time - this has a laxative effect. Make sure she is drinking very well, you can also provide her chick starter as a wet mash. If you are giving anything else besides chick starter make sure she has a source of poultry grit (crushed granite) so she can process her food properly.

Keep us posted.
