Weird bug

Didnt notice any smell when I squished it. Maybe because it sprayed my dog in the face.

She wanted nothing to do with that bug after that:lau

I will be searching for another one tomorrow to smell now. Somehow I've never smelled one.

They live in wood. It probably hitched a ride in on the dog or someone's shoe. NO worries. Brown Marmorated Stink bug if you want to know.
I was torn between this variety and the rough wood stink bug, I believe it was called.

I have always described how they smell, to me, as burnt celery. :sick
I've never burnt celery:lau:lau:lau

It's only useful to me in chicken noodle soup and peanut butter. Lol.

I describe olives as tasting like pennies though. I was a curious kid....

Really not sure how I didnt end up real sick or dead with the things I tasted as a kid:duc

Do you have to have carpet to get them? Weve got wood floors and tile throughout.

Yes, I just found more under some split wood out in the yard while I was moving it. We just brought in a bunch of wood for the fireplace as were expecting darn near 3 days of straight snow. He crawled out from an area fairly close to where we stack the wood, oh lord help me I cant imagine how many more are in there:rolleyes::sick
No, you don’t have to have carpet. I got them in my furniture once. They also hide in the corners or they eat your clothes. They usually live outside but they go indoors to lay their eggs and their larva has tiny hairs that will make your skin itch. The larva hatch into the beetle.

Thats why wer dont bring wood into the house until it's ready to toss in the fire. Warmth of the house while waiting cen make things wake up or hatch.
Usually we keep in on the shelves in the garage, but they were full, and we were expecting 3 days straight of snow, so I was worried about it getting buried. We burned through most of it these last few days in this bitter cold. So glad its "warming" back up.

Thanks yall for your help!
