Hey folks - hope this finds you well.

One of my Easter eggers just laid what looks to be a painful to pass egg.

The egg itself feels like there’s a rough coating on the shell, and not like one with calcium deposits.

There are tiny brown specks on the egg, but they are very faint. It feels like it’s some sort of coating. My other eggs are pretty smooth, but this one feels off. Thank you in advance for your help!

The roughness is calcium deposits. Sometimes it's just a fluke, sometimes a hen lays them consistently.
my hen lays this type egg most often m, they are rough and looks like it’s painful but she is intact and I’ve just been watching and reading.
