Hi can anyone help me? I have a sexually mature male muscovy and I noticed only a few days ago the hes the ONLY one of all my muscovies that has blue eyes and on top of that he doesn't have the black tip on his beak which I was told ALL muscovies have and that's how you can tell what breed they are when they're ducklings. He's a beautiful boy but I'm just wondering what this colouration means. Haha thank you.

he must be a very special runt

Pictures would be good, also blue eyed do exist i have some. As for this black tip? no idea what that is, i have a lot of scovies here(they comprise the majority share hold of my flock) and i don't recall a black tip??

You mean at the bills end? yeah, those vary in colour.. i get what you mean now lol

Can you post a picture of him?

Muscovy ducks can have blue eyes. Usually the white ones do but it is possible for other colors to have blue eyes as well.

As for the black tip on the bill, that is not true. All muscovies do have a "bean" on the end of the bill, but they vary in color and pattern for all muscovy ducks. Just because it's not black doesn't mean it's not a muscovy.

Definitely a scovie! i have some that look just like that...

um, no good shots right now but look through the pen that is one my 4mth olds.. he's actually one of my most unusual having some black facial fleshing(it does happen) just i have not had it before, owned A LOT of drakes too lol those are variations of blacks.
