Weird Easter Egger situation

I have a really strange situation with my 2 EE, at least to me, being a newbie. One of my EE started laying green eggs. Cool. Then one day a giant and I mean GIANT blue egg appeared in the nesting box. The largest egg I have ever seen. I assumed it was from EE #2 and thanked my lucky stars she didn’t become egg bound. When we went to open it to see what was inside, a really big, oval yolk was inside. Inside that yolk was a thick white sack with more yolk inside. Almost like an egg within an egg. Since then (about 3 weeks) I’ve had nothing but green eggs in the nesting boxes. Some days I get 2 green eggs with one of them being smaller. So it stands to reason that both of my EE are now laying green eggs. I thought they only ever laid one color? What the heck was up with the one blue egg? Any ideas or just a weird fluke? I’m attaching a photo of the mutant egg.

Different shades is fine but they won’t go from laying a white egg to a brown egg. But they can go from a light green to a blueish-green egg due to their toner

It was, one just didn't get a shell.
The brown coating on the egg can vary form day to day.

There are only white and blue shells.
Brown eggs have brown coating on white shells.
Green eggs have brown coating on blue shells.
The brown coating can be very light or very dark, and can vary day to day.
Then the bloom can add another aspect to the egg color.
Pink/purplish eggs are from the bloom on a brown egg.

This is SO interesting, thank you! I’ve noticed that the green eggs are blue on the inside.
