Hey guys went in the coop today and found this weird super soft looking egg. Don't know what it is. I have 6 barred rock chickens and get 5-6 eggs a day but never had this any explanation????

Usually these soft shell eggs occur when a young hen starts to lay eggs. But if all your hens have been laying eggs and you sure of that it could be a calcium deficiency. If so just through cracked oyster shells and/or ground egg shell in there food.

Welcome to BYC!
How old are your birds?
What and how exactly are you feeding?

It could just be a glitch, funky eggs happen, as long as it's not all the time there's nothing to worry about.

Offering oyster shell, and chicken egg shells, can help with calcium needs.....
.....but do not mix it into feed, put it in a separate container always available to those who need more.
