Weird egg

We have had a chicken lay an egg twice that looks like this. She'll is hard. Any ideas?

That is called a slab-sided egg I think, and is one of the odd eggs that can be possible after a chicken has had infectious bronchitis. Have you ever noticed any chickens sneezing recently? Look at number 11 in this article:
