Not sure where to post this. Today I was short 2 eggs, didnt see them in the nesting boxes, nor in the run, went into the coop and there they lay... picked up the first in the corner and the other by the water barrel shocked me???? its a normal egg but has a membrane surrounding it as well as a yolk inside.... like this egg was going to be inside a massive egg if it got it calcium coating ? first time seeing this from an easter egger, theyve only been laying a couple months now. what gives? In the last pic I tore the membrane to show the egg was inside with the yolk, the membrane was super tough to tear

I don't think it's anything to worry about. Sometimes weird eggs, especially from new layers, just happen. It takes about 20 hours for an egg to form in the oviduct, and sometimes, not often, a second egg will enter the oviduct before the first egg has time to finish the laying process. This causes the first egg to reverse in the oviduct and get added to the second. Both eggs then have a second albumen (white of egg) and shell encase them. My guess is that the eggs didn't get very far into the process before being laid.
