Only towards that funky top end. Probably should break it open and see what it looks like?

I wonder how deep the hole is.

So I broke it open. It seemed like a normal egg. I wonder if that’s almost a soft egg? But only towards the end. I’m to new to chickens to really know for sure. It had a yolk and whites still.

You joined BYC 10 years ago and are just now getting chickens?

How old, in weeks or months, are your birds?
How long have they been laying?
What all and how exactly are you feeding?
Do you have other layers whose eggs are fine?

I had chickens 10 years ago. Then got out of it.
Just brought these ladies home a month and a half ago. All are last falls hatch.
The other 5 eggs are fine.
This egg was a new one today. My guess is it’s from my silver laced Wyandotte who had not started laying yet. I have seen all the other in the nest boxes to know they are laying.
Purina layer feed.
They do get scratch grain mix with BSFL. Also free range when I am home.
