I have a hen laying eggs that have a distinctive band separating the top from bottom. The color is slightly different, and the shell at the band seems to be thicker. Its kinda hard to see in the pictures. I don't know the age of the hen. She was dropped off on my property, and I took her in.

I would be grateful for any help.

I had a hen that laid similar odd eggs every time. I would offer oyster shell free choice but if it doesn't change (like mine) it may just be productive issue. My hen seemed otherwise fine and the interior of the egg always was normal

Any change in a chickens environment may cause some funky eggs due to stress, I wouldn't worry unless the eggs keep coming out weirdly shaped.
