Weird Feathers

one of my Rhode Island Reds has some weird wing feathers. She's about 2 years old and as far as I know she hasn't molted. If she has, it wasn't noticeable. Some of the feathers on the outside edge of her one wing look horrible. The feathers look really worn. Some of the feathers are only the shafts. Anything I can do? Or do I just let it be?

Maybe she is getting ready to molt or just shedding a few feathers. What a beauty. I hope my red is as cute as she is.

It looks like she is being bullied by another chicken.

I would be extremely surprised if she was being picked on. I was finally able to catch her today so I could get a better picture of the feathers. The other wing is bad, too, but not this bad.

Inspect the base of her feathers for signs of feather mites. Do a thread search so you'll know what you are looking for. Do you have a rooster?

I will try to check tomorrow. She's a hard chicken to catch lol... No we don't have a rooster
