So recently one of our new chickens started laying eggs today I cracked one open and it came out solid, every other olive egg I used came out the same way. Any ideas of what this is?

It's a double shell - an egg inside another. Is the hen a new layer? So recently one of our new chickens started laying eggs today I cracked one open and it came out solid, every other olive egg I used came out the same way. Any ideas of what this is?View attachment 3201764

A new layer hiccup, it seems.. (presumably)
How old is the egg.. possible there were micro cracks and it got contaminated somehow? What is that black spot on top.. looks reminiscent of possible bacterial growth.
Where did the birds come from? Hatchery or private source?
This is the first time I've seen what your describing specifically , but the following link is to an article that includes many of things that can go awry with eggs..

Regarding new layer hiccups.. The thick albumin is just really thick, I think in your egg.. and the thin albumin is the part that still spread around.. But was it still clear jelly.. not looking cooked at all, correct? The newest egg that was like this was collected yesterday. The egg didn't have any black spots that might be from the pan I had cooked bacon in it just before the came from Cal Ranch. The stuff that spread around was very watery with small white chuncksWelcome to BYC!
