I’ve been home with an injury so I haven’t had as sharp of an eye on my birds lately. I just limped out here and noticed one of birds has a lump on her foot. She’s acting fine walking fine eating fine. I touched the lump almost seems like a huge pimple.

It appears to be bumblefoot, and it does sometimes appear on the top of the foot between the toes. You may want to soak the feet for 15 minutes daily in warm Epsom salts water. Then try removing the softened scab and squeeze out any solid pus inside the foot. There is usually a solid core there.

Does penicillin help a recurring swollen bumblefoot?

I’ve done a lot of bumblefoot surgery, and it always comes back. Now their feet are swollen…

Maybe penicillin will help the OP’s hen, after surgery, avoid getting a recurring problem like I have?

I have never had to use antibiotics. I usually do the surgery to remove the plug, and mine has not come back.
You’re so lucky!
I’ve removed the plug, and pulled out pussy white stuff from the wound…Wrapped their feet for days, changing the bandage appropriately….Still the bumblefoot comes back 😢

Ok thanks. I’ll drain the wound tomorrow and maybe use antibacterial cream and keep treating her
