Weird lump on quail

My sister found this on one of our males today. It’s small but sticks out between his winter coat and we don’t really have a clue what it is or how he got it? Or if it’s something to worry about? Any advice? Thanks!

My male also had one of these, it went away in a week or 2.

Just dont let the other peck at him or the bump. Might be stress

Keep an eye on it. It might be a small cyst, and if so, it may heal on its own or grow. If it goes away, great, if it grows, start to worry and maybe think about a vet.

My dog had something similar, turned out it was a tick head. Idk if the same can happen to birds, but I guess the tick got chewed off with the head still attached, it made a little flesh colored bump and took about a month to go away. The vet had said just watch it for signs of infection, and it went away on its own.
