Weird mass laid by chicken

As my chickens were settling in for the night, one of them laid an “egg” minus the shell, and this weird thing…. What is it?
A little background, she has been laying inconsistently since spring, usually laying huge bullet eggs with thin spots when she does lay.

Can you cut it open and take more photos?

Hard to tell what it is, but I would guess a mass of membranes. Could be some inflammation going on as well. If she were mine, I would be inclined to treat with an antibiotic like Amoxicillin. You can order it online.
