WEIRD or ODD Eggs pics!!!! :)

Have you had any other wrinkled eggs? I have a hen who is consistently laying wrinkled eggs. Now another hen in that same batch is starting to lay eggs with just a small wrinkle at one end. I was wondering if it could be caused by mites, an illness, or stress?

Here's one I found on the floor of my coop one morning. Not sure who laid it, none of my girls lay a green egg. I do I have one girl that has never laid at 2 years of age, so maybe it was her. It was totally a mini egg when I cracked it open. Small whites with a very small yolk and a dab of something brown.

I just wanted to share we have a sweetheart, neurotic Polish Crested that thinks she is a dog. She lays a wee tiny egg without a yolk and sometimes completely dry about every other week. I usually save them for fun show and tell until they turn to dust when picked up!

I only have one laying chicken, so this was weird. The soft shell egg was under the roosting bar and the other egg was in the nesting box. When I opened them, they were completely normal. The hard one made a weird noise when you tapped it, sounded like metal.

Haha! I love this thread, cracked me up, get it? Cracked!! lol So I thought I would share something I heard that I am not sure is true but it's cool, Supposedly the shape of an egg can determine the sex of the chick, the longer and pointy ones are more likely to be roosters and the rounder ones are more likely to be hens. Hmmm, I don't know, but just in case I try not to incubate any pointy ones!

Here is the unique egg I found in one of our next boxes. It is a membrane covered. The hen that layed it is under a year old. She has free access to calcium and a well balanced diet.
