I have four laying hens. two are almost 2 and the other two are just one year.
Sometimes when I break one of their eggs open to eat, I see something weird and different in a few eggs here and there.
Its kinda of a redish copper color. very small little somethings, not sure what they are, I was wondering if anybody else has noticed this in their eggs? I hope its ok, because I feed them to my kids and myself.

Please help, next time I see this, I will take a picture and post it.

Look through the internal defects part of this link to see if you can find it. It sounds like blood spots but you can match the photos with what you are seeing.

They are not harmful and are actually fairly common. Commercial operations electronically candle eggs looking for stuff like that so the customer is not surprised by what you are finding. Those eggs are sold to bakeries or other places that open and mix the eggs so people can’t see it.
