Weird sickness!!!

In addition to what Michael Apple has stated, I'm wondering if there could be a mild case of botulism going on caused by stagnant water, mold or fungal spores from spoiled feed, a carcass of a dead rodent or something. Birds have a 40% chance survival rate after a bout of botulism and usually recover after the first 48 hours. I'm not sure if is this is what you're dealing with though, just a thought.

A migratory or dead bird, rodent, rodent droppings and nests can also spread a disease known as Cholera. What was described doesn't sound like Cholera, but I know it is a disease found in my region.
