I think it is good that they named her that. And if your mom wants to talk to her that is just fine too.
Without getting all freaky and weird , I believe in Kindred Spirits. I have had experiences in my life (loosing someone and an animal comes along that "reminds" me of that person) Besides, there is a reason for everything, maybe this little girl knew that you and your nieces needed her at the time she came into your lives.
I was raised and am still a Christian , I do believe that God helps us get through stuff in many ways.
IF he didn't I would have been totally insane a long long time ago.

Thanks Locked Hearts. I told my mother what you said & it was a comfort to her. And to me, too.

I opened the box to poop scoop, fill the feeder & waterer this morning and Lisa Marie came out (took the remaining eggs last night). ALL she wanted to do was dust bathe. She kept coming back to the box and tried to get the chicks to follow her but of course they are too small to do that. She kept looking at me like, "DO something!" She let me pick them up and then gave dust bathing lessons. It was SO cute! I sat out there and watched for a couple of hours.

I think we can forget the 'happier than a pig in mud' saying ... it should be 'happier than a chicken in dirt'! She was ecstatic! They were not quite getting it but the darker chick tried it out a little bit. The lighter one kept jumping on her back and almost got buried underneath her at one point.


She almost had herself buried at one point - doesn't she look happy?
