Weird sore on foot.

The other day I noticed my Silver Laced Wyandotte was limping. I checked her leg for bone injuries and didn't find any, but later it occurred to me to check the bottom of her foot. I found this sore and it doesn't appear to be a horribly bad problem, but I don't want her to be in pain. What is this and are there any easy cures?

That is bumblefoot. It is a staph infection. There are no 'easy' cures. It takes quite a bit of therapy.

Is there any way to treat it without surgery?
I don't really feel competent too cutting my chickens feet.

I usually go ahead and do the surgery to avoid the soaking and other methods, but you can try to soak and use the non-surgical approach as well. Here are a few links to read:

A warm Epsom salt bath should always be the first treatment no matter what the next approach is.
I have done surgery a few times but I'm migrated to an herbal treatment used by U of KY for treating raptors.

Most of the first links above recommend an Epsom salts soak first as well. The Tricide Neo is an alternate treatment for those who have done the other things.
