Weird sorta egg? But not really an egg?

One of my young ladies (under a year) laid a skin to an egg today. It was not hard at all. It was as thin as paper. I'm not sure that it was even the skin to a whole egg. I thought maybe someone may have cracked it and eaten it, but it really doesn't look like the case? This "skin" was very wet and was the color of an egg. Any ideas?

one of my hens layed a wierd egg yesterday, it was very soft shelled, the "shell" looked just like a shell color and all even with a ruff area on the big end. but it was squishy you could put an indent in the shell with ur finger. ??? I'm clueless what happened in the egg factory but something was forgot. BTW we gently squeezed it in to a fry pan and feed it to the chickens. I didn't think keeping it till today in the fridge was wise.

It happens occasionally. If it happens more than occasionally, though, be sure to offer them crushed oyster shell, in a separate feeder and always available.
