ONe of my sex links has been laying eggs with weird stuff on them, is it something I should be worried about or is it just imperfection that will go away when she gets older? The hen is 9 months old

I think it's calcium deposits. I'm not sure if it's dangerous or not. I don 't think it's something you should be really worried about though.

Maybe someone who knows more about can help you more. I've only heard about it in a magazine article.

I have had a hen that has laid eggs just like this, but I don't really know what it is. So I am going to

with you.

this can be due to stress, too much calcium, over crowding, or just getting the kinks worked out in her young productive system. when they are younger than 1 year old they are considered pullets.

hmm probably not too much calcium since I don't add any oyster shells for them, I am thinking more over crowded, I have 4 pullets (ty for correcting me) in a coop that was build for 3

here is a pic, I let them out every day for at least an hour if the weather is good, would it solve the problem if I let them out for much longer?
